12th Day of Christmas Festival Concert – January 5, 2018

ALBUQUERQUE (NM): On the 12th day of Christmas, join the artists of Polyphony: Voices of New Mexico, professional soloists, David Felberg (concertmaster), and members of Chatter – all under the direction of Maxine Thévenot (Artistic Director) in a spectacular concert featuring Bach’s glorious Christmas Oratorio Parts I & III and excerpts from Part I of Handel’s beloved Messiah. This concert is sure to thrill and send out the season of Christmas in high style. Preceding the concert at 6pm there will be a lecture with well-known educator Oliver Prezant.

Press Quotes for Polyphony: Voices of New Mexico:

“A gorgeous tapestry of sound… Directing a carefully-chosen group of singers, [Maxine] Thévenot conducts with a minimum of gesture eliciting a maximum effect—the mark of a master conductor.” – The Albuquerque Journal

“A group made up entirely and proudly of New Mexico singers, Polyphony, Voices of New Mexico, has quickly become the area’s premier chamber chorus … The ensemble boasts a unified blend of voices top to bottom with impeccable intonation … Thévenot is a musical force to be reckoned with” – The Albuquerque Journal

“…there was a luxuriant sound to the group, solid throughout its range from stratospheric sopranos to robust basses. One can easily become mesmerized in the opulent sonorities. ” – The Albuquerque Journal
